The IPC is flexible and can be aligned with national standards (SEP guidelines). At The Wingate School, the IPC is taught entirely in English, except for subjects required by the Mexican curriculum. These include Spanish, Mexican history, and geography, which are taught in Spanish to ensure students meet national educational requirements.

Elementary Programme Highlights

We follow the successful White Rose Maths curriculum, which builds problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. This curriculum ensures that every child achieves a strong grasp of each concept before progressing, while enabling differentiated learning for students at different levels.

Our Literacy programme uses the renowned Cambridge Primary English course, complemented by Jolly Grammar and The Big Writing Programme to enhance students' writing abilities. Students also follow a Levelled Reading Programme, using Cambridge resources that increase in difficulty to develop reading skills, comprehension, and vocabulary. Upon completing all levels, students earn "Free Reader" status.

Art is integrated into the IPC units, and music education plays a key role in the curriculum. At our Elementary School near Interlomas, English is the primary language of instruction, with Spanish also taught to meet Mexican national curriculum requirements. Approximately 80% of lessons are conducted through English immersion by native-speaking teachers, while 20% are in Spanish for SEP (Secretaría de Educación Pública) subjects.

Our Primary School near Interlomas is set within a very green campus, with an additional 30,000 square metres allocated for future development. The Primary block features spacious classrooms, each equipped with technology and a small library to promote independent reading, as well as a dedicated Primary library.

Students have access to the school's wider sports facilities, including a multi-purpose sports area, a covered basketball court, volleyball courts, and two astroturf pitches. Through our partnership with Mirador Sports Club, padel courts should become available soon. The school's partner ranch offers horse riding lessons and woodland trails, providing unique outdoor experiences.

Creative spaces include a multipurpose room and an open-air Greek theatre, with a new auditorium planned. Recreational areas feature well-equipped, age-appropriate playgrounds and a gardening area.

Primary students may participate in ECAs, which run from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday to Thursday. There are no ECAs on Fridays.

Cafeteria & Snacks

A healthy, balanced diet is essential for a child’s development and their ability to focus and learn at school. To support this, an optional hot lunch is available from Monday to Thursday. The hot lunch includes a protein option, a vegetarian dish, a side, fruit, and vegetables.

Snacks can be purchased using a preloaded money card. Alternatively, you are welcome to send a packed lunch with your child.

School Bus Service

TWS provides a safe and reliable bus service for our Primary pupils, with routes monitored by an experienced supervisor. All buses are GPS-tracked and equipped with cameras for added security.

Buses arrive at 07:55 am and depart at 2:45 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 1:30 pm (Friday). A late bus is available for students participating in ECAs, leaving by 4:20 pm.
